Formation of Outreach wing – Karuthal (Outreach wing of SH)

As part of Karuthal, the social outreach program of  the Department of Science and Humanities of Mar Baselios College, a meaningful visit was conducted to Visranthi Bhavan, a rehabilitation and care center located in Kattela, Thiruvananthapuram, on May 29, 2025. A team comprising of Dr. Archana P.Das, Prof. Joseph Cherian, Dr. Lakshmi J.S, Dr. Renjini M.Nair and Ms. Akhila K.Jose visited the center to interact with the residents and extend support in the form of essential supplies. These contributions were made possible through the collective effort of the faculty, who came together under the banner of Karuthal to make a positive impact. After handing over the supplies, the team spent valuable time interacting with the residents of Karunya Visranthi Bhavan. Their stories and smiles left a deep impression on the participants, reinforcing the importance of empathy and active community engagement.

Outreach activity in collaboration with NSS unit of the college

In association with the NSS unit of MBCET, Karuthal, the Outreach wing of the Department of Science and Humanities visited Chonanpara, a small tribal village in Vellanad block in Thiruvananthapuram district. Dr. Archana P. Das, Associate Prof. & HoD, Mr. Vinu V, Asst. Prof. and Dr. Veena Nair, Asst. Prof., NSS students, NSS coordinators along with the Bursar, the Principal and Vice Principal participated in various activities. Kits of various everyday commodities were distributed among the villagers.
