OFFICE OF THE CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS
Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology (MBCET) approved by AICTE, has been conferred the autonomous status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in July 2020. The affiliating University, APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU University) has notified the conferment of autonomy in September 2020, based on the directives from the Government of Kerala. The College has adopted Outcome Based Education (OBE) as the broad framework for instruction and evaluation. Examinations shall be governed by the principles of Outcome-Based Education that truly reflect the international viewpoint about the teaching-learning process. So, there shall be a continuous assessment process combined with summative evaluations.
Examination related work is crucial and it will certainly gauge the very credibility of the system. The College understands that academic autonomy while providing creative opportunities for the faculty in designing curriculum and developing evaluation methods on the parameters of employability, programme outcomes, and stipulated graduate attributes, is also a challenge to ensure integrity, quality and accuracy in the domain of evaluation/examination systems. So, College has constituted an independent Section namely the Examination Cell to manage all matters related to the examinations and evaluations.
The Examination Cell is headed by the Chief Controller of Examinations. The team in the Examination Cell consists of Controller of Examinations, Deputy Controllers, Assistant Controller, Department Representatives (Examination), Department Chairpersons (Evaluation), Office Superintendent, Confidential Assistant and Office Assistants.
